Neutralbit CTO, Lluis Mora, will be speaking at the upcoming Blackhat Europe which will be held on March 27-30 in Amsterdam. The presentation "SMTP Information Gathering" studies the information that can be passively extracted from corporate e-mail messages, and how an attacker can obtain a clear image of internal infrastructure and policies. The presentation covers various innovative measures to reduce exposure to information leaks in e-mail messages, such as the study of "SMTP paths":

Information gathering is a key stage in directed attacks, in which an attacker scouts the corporate infrastructure to maximize the chances of a successful intrusion. Neutralbit includes as part of its security assessment services a passive information gathering phase, including e-mail, an area that traditional approaches to penetration testing do not take into account.
Blackhat Europe is the must-go annual conference for European information security experts, where speakers from around the world present their state of the art research. Neutralbit is the only Spanish company presenting at the current edition, a result of our research efforts and the constant innovation to increase service value.
